(a) the current status of the Angamaly–Kundannoor Bypass project,
including land acquisition, environmental clearance and detailed project
report stages;
(b) whether the Government is considering any measures to expedite the
implementation of this vital infrastructure project that would help long-
distance vehicles bypass Kochi city and ease congestion in areas like
Aluva, Kalamassery, Edappally, Palarivattom and Vyttila, if so, the details
thereof;
(c) whether the Government has received any representations to officially
rename the proposed Angamaly–Kundannoor Bypass as Kochi Bypass
instead of Ernakulam Bypass and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether any timeline has been finalized for the commencement of the
construction work of the Angamaly–Kundannoor Bypass and if so, the
expected date of commencement?

(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)(a) to (d) The Detailed Project Report (DPR) involving alignment study,
feasibility study, pre-construction activities (including assessment of Land
Acquisition) for Angamaly – Kundannoor (Ernakulam) bypass has been
awarded. The award of civil construction work can be taken up based on
the outcome of DPR, statutory clearances and pre- construction activities
depending upon projected traffic, techno - economic viability, synergy with
PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and inter-se-priority. It is premature to
ascertain the completion time and estimated expenditure etc till the DPR is
finalised.
