Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the proposal for establishing an Apex Research Institute for Yoga and
Naturopathy in Andhra Pradesh, including its estimated cost, institutional structure and
governing framework;
(b) the number of undergraduate and postgraduate seats proposed in the first phase;
(c) whether the Union Government has requested the State Government of Andhra Pradesh to
allocate land for the establishment of the institute, if so, the details and the present status thereof;
and
(d) the details of the expected outcomes of this initiative in terms of expanding higher education
opportunities, advancing research capacity and improving public access to Yoga and
Naturopathy healthcare services in Southern India, particularly in the State of Andhra Pradesh
and Karnataka?

(a) Ministry of Ayush has planned to establish a ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga and
Naturopathy (CRIYN)’ consisting of 100 bedded Hospital including treatment block,
administration & OPD and residential facilities at an estimated cost of Rs.93.82 Cr on land
measuring Ac. 15.00 cents in Nadimpalem Village, Guntur District, provided by Government of
Andhra Pradesh. Administrative approval and expenditure sanction for the project have been
obtained for this project. The CRIYN, Guntur will function under the administrative control of
the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), an autonomous
organization under the Ministry of Ayush.
(b) At present no proposal is under consideration in the Ministry for under graduate/post
graduate courses in the proposed CRIYN.
(c) The Government of Andhra Pradesh had earlier allotted free hold & cost-free land in
Kondapavuluru, Gannavaram - Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh for setting up of
CRIYN with 100 bedded Yoga & Naturopathy hospital. Subsequently, the Government of
Andhra Pradesh withdrew the said land allotment and re-allotted an alternative land measuring
Ac. 15.00 cents in Survey No. 149/4A in Nadimpalem Village, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh.
The said land has been handed over to CCRYN in the month of April, 2025.
(d) The following outcomes are envisaged out of this initiative:
Advancing Research projects related to Yoga & Naturopathy.
Improvement in OPD and IPD treatment facilities related to Yoga and Naturopathy
healthcare services for general public.
