In response, the Minister of State for Finance in the Ministry of Finance, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, stated that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a loan agreement for USD 125 million on 22.09.2025 for the Assam Urban Sector Development Project. The project aims to establish enabling framework for integrated urban development and improved sustainability of inclusive and climate resilient urban services in project areas in the State. The loan agreement was signed by the Government of India for this project with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the request of the Government of Assam, which is the custodian of project details, and the detailed project information is not centrally maintained by the Government of India.

agreement for USD 125 million on 22.09.2025 for the Assam Urban Sector Development Project.
The project aims to establish enabling framework for integrated urban development and improved
sustainability of inclusive and climate resilient urban services in project areas in the State. This is
a State Sector Project of the Government of Assam and the loan agreement was signed by the
Government of India for this project with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the request of
the Government of Assam. The custodian of project details is the State Government, and the
detailed project information is not centrally maintained by the Government of India.
