SHRI MAHENDRA BHATT: Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT,FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state: (a) the amount of financial assistance provided to Uttarakhand during this financial year under CAMPA funds; (b) the places where this amount has been utilized; and (c) whether resources have also been provided for wildlife conservation in the State and if so, the nature thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE (SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH) (a) In the current financial year 2025-26, the National Authority CAMPA has released Rs. 156.52 crore as compensatory levies to the State of Uttarakhand, realized on account of diversion of forest land under the Van (Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan) Adhiniyam, 1980. (b) & (c) The fund is being utilized for undertaking various compensatory afforestation and other activities, including wildlife conservation, as per the provisions of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Act, 2016 and Compensatory Afforestation Fund Rules, 2018. The utilization of funds is done as per the approved Annual Plan of Operation (APO) recommended by the State level Steering Committee which is headed by the Chief Secretary of the State. The APO is approved by the Executive Committee of National Authority (CAMPA). The funds are utilised for undertaking various activities aimed at the betterment of forests, including improvement and enrichment of forest areas, wildlife conservation, artificial regeneration, assisted natural regeneration, protection of forests, development of forest-related infrastructure, and other ancillary activities related to forest and wildlife management. During the current financial year, 2025-26, the following activities are being implemented in the State of Uttarakhand towards wildlife conservation with an outlay of Rs. 60.81 crores as detailed below: S.
