On December 5, 2025, Unstarred Question No. 944 was addressed regarding AYUSH facilities in rural areas. The Minister of Ayush was asked to state if Scheduled Caste families in rural Bharatpur, Rajasthan, face hardship due to lack of affordable traditional medical services.
The Minister of State (IC) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, responded that Bharatpur is well-equipped with AYUSH healthcare, including 90 Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) centers, 86 Ayush dispensaries, and 11 Ayush hospitals, providing free healthcare to all citizens without discrimination, including free medicine distribution and free yoga sessions.
While public health is a State subject, under the National Ayush Mission (NAM), two new units of Integrated Ayush Hospitals (IAHs), one 10-bedded and another 50-bedded, have been approved for Bharatpur, with allocations of Rs. 45.00 lakhs and Rs. 500.00 lakh, respectively. These hospitals are currently under construction, as reported by the State.

Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that Scheduled Castes families are facing hardship due to lack of
affordable traditional medical services and AYUSH wellness centers, Ayurvedic dispensaries
and yoga facilities in rural areas of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of new AYUSH centres set up, doctors appointed and budget allocated to the
said district; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (b) As reported by the State Government, the district of Bharatpur, Rajasthan, is well
equipped with a network of Ayush healthcare facilities, comprising 90 Ayushman Arogya Mandir
(Ayush)[AAM (Ayush)] centres, 86 Ayush dispensaries, and 11 Ayush hospitals. These facilities
are providing free health care services to the beneficiaries with no discrimination on the basis of
caste, ensuring equal access to Ayush services for all citizens including free distribution of
medicines. In addition, free yoga sessions are being regularly conducted at the AAM (Ayush).
(c) to (d) Public Health being State subject, setting up of new Ayush centres and appointment of
doctors comes under the purview of respective State Government. However, under Centrally
Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), two new units of Integrated Ayush
hospitals (IAHs), one 10- bedded & another 50- bedded has been approved in the Bharatpur district
and Rs. 45.00 lakhs and Rs. 500.00 lakh has been allocated to these units respectively. Further, as
reported by the State these hospitals are currently under construction.
