(a) the total funds allocated and released to Bihar under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) during
the last three financial years, year-wise;
(b) the total number of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) sanctioned and made
functional in Bihar, district-wise, particularly in Jamui district;
(c) the number of AYUSH Grams and AYUSH Polyclinics established in Bihar under the NAM;
(d) the steps being taken by the Government to ensure the co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary
Health Centres (PHCs) in rural Bihar; and
(e) the measures by the Government to ensure a regular supply of essential AYUSH medicines and
the appointment of AYUSH doctors at these HWCs in Jamui district of Bihar?

(a) Under National Ayush Mission (NAM), an amount of Rs. 1161.00 lakhs has been released as
Central Share to Bihar during the year 2023-24. However, funds could not be released during the year
2022-23 & 2024-25 as the State was unable to fulfil the issued guidelines of Department of
Expenditure regarding release of grant.
(b) As per the proposals received from State Government of Bihar through their State Annual Action
Plans (SAAPs), 294 units of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres (AHWCs) now known as Ayushman
Arogya Mandir Ayush [AAM (Ayush)] have been sanctioned and as reported by State, all are
functional. The district-wise status of sanctioned/ functional AAM (Ayush), including Jamui district
of Bihar is furnished at Annexure.
(c) As reported by State 35 villages have been covered under the initiative of AYUSH Grams.
However, there is no provision for establishment of AYUSH Polyclinics under NAM.
1(d) Government of India has adopted a strategy of Co-location of Ayush facilities at Primary Health
Centres (PHCs) including rural Bihar, thus enabling the choice to the patients for different systems of
medicines under a single window. The engagement of Ayush doctors/ paramedics and their training is
being supported by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under National Health Mission (NHM),
while the support for Ayush infrastructure, equipment/ furniture and medicines is being provided by
the Ministry of Ayush under National Ayush Mission (NAM), as shared responsibilities.
(e) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to ensure a regular supply of
essential Ayush medicines and the appointment of Ayush doctors at AAM (Ayush) in Bihar including
Jamui district comes under the purview of respective State Government. However, under NAM, State
Government is being supported for supply of essential Ayush medicines and Ayush doctors as per the
proposals received through SAAPs for smooth functioning of AAM (Ayush).
