AYUSH Hospitals and Dispensaries in Andhra Pradesh

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries established across the country
under National AYUSH Mission (NAM) during the last five years, State/UT-wise and
district-wise of Andhra Pradesh.
(b) whether the Government is aware that Andhra Pradesh has significantly fewer AYUSH
hospitals as compared to other States in the country and if so, the reasons for this gap;
(c) the details of existing AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries in Andhra Pradesh, including
their current functional status, services provided and average annual patient load, district-
wise;
(d) the details of vacancies in medical, paramedical, and administrative posts in AYUSH
hospitals and dispensaries in the country, hospital and district-wise in the State of Andhra
Pradesh;
(e) whether any proposals have been received from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh
for new AYUSH hospitals or dispensaries in underserved districts such as Nandyal and if so,
the details thereof; and
(f) the amount of funds allocated, released and utilised for AYUSH healthcare infrastructure
in Andhra Pradesh under NAM during the last five years, year-wise?

(a) Ministry of Ayush is supporting efforts of States/UTs for overall growth and promotion of
Ayush Systems by providing financial assistance to them. Accordingly, as per the proposals
received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) the total number of Integrated Ayush
hospitals State/UT-wise and dispensaries established across the country under NationalAyush Mission (NAM) during the last five years is furnished at Annexure I, and Annexure
II respectively.
(b) Public health being a State subject, establishment of new Ayush hospitals particularly in
underserved areas comes under the purview of respective State Government. However, under
Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) there is a provision of
financial assistance for Setting up of 50/30/10 Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospitals,
construction of building to establish new Ayush dispensary in the area where there are no
Ayush facilities available and for upgradation of Government/Panchayat/Government aided
Ayush Dispensaries. However, in this regard suitable proposal is required to be submitted by
the State/UT Governments through their State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) as per the
provisions of NAM guideline.
(c) Public Health being a State subject the actual status of available Ayush Health Facilities
and their status of functionality w.r.t to services and annual patient load is being maintained
by the respective State Government and no such data is being maintained by the Ministry.
(d) Public Health being a state subject the primary responsibility for sanctioning of posts and
filling up of vacant posts in all categories including medical, paramedical and administrative
posts comes under the purview of respective States/UT Governments and accordingly no
such data is maintained by Central Government.
(e) Under NAM as per the proposal received from State 05 existing Ayush Dispensaries have
been upgraded to Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) and 01 Ayush Dispensary to Specialty
Wellness Centre in Nandyal District. However, no proposal for Ayush hospital has been
received from State Government of Andhra Pradesh. The details of Dispensaries upgraded as
Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) and Specialty Wellness Centre is at Annexure III.
(f) As per the proposals received through SAAPs Ministry of Ayush under NAM has
supported for infrastructural support of two 50 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospitals, 01 Ayush
Education Institute and 126 existing Ayush Dispensaries upgraded as Ayushman Arogya
Mandir (Ayush) Details of funds allocated, released and utilized for these Ayush healthcare
infrastructure during last five years is enclosed as Annexure-IV.Annexure I
