Shri Bhojraj Nag: Ms. Bansuri Swaraj: Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state: (a) whether a number of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, AYUSH health and wellness centres have been established/proposed to be established under NAM to strengthen primary healthcare, address the health related issues and as a holistic health model in the country; (b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise and district-wise including industrial area like Bhiwandi; (c) the total number of beneficiaries availed services from these centres so far in the country, State/UT-wise; (d) whether the Government has assessed the impact of these centres on public health outcome if so, the details along with the key findings thereof; and (e) the measures taken by the Government to enhance the effectiveness of AYUSH services in every village of the country? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (e) A Statement is laid on the Table of the House. 1The Statement referred in reply to Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 187 for 01.08.2025 (a) & (b) Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), as per the proposals received from State/UT Governments through their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), 12500 units of existing Ayush Dispensaries and Sub Health Centres have been approved to be upgraded as Ayush Health & Wellness Centres [now renamed as Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) (Ayush)] to strengthen primary healthcare and to address the health related issues as a holistic health model in the country. As reported by State/UT Governments, all AAM (Ayush) are operational. State/UT-wise and district-wise status of approved AAM (Ayush) is furnished at Annexure-I. (c) As reported by State/UT Governments, State/UT-wise number of beneficiaries availed the services through these AAM (Ayush) from 2021 to June, 2025 is furnished at Annexure-II. (d) & (e) Yes. There are third party review and also NABH assessment besides visit by the Central team in different States/UTs to review the implementation progress of different activities/services being provided by established Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM (Ayush)] which were approved with an objective to establish a holistic wellness model based on Ayush principles and practices focusing on preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative healthcare by establishing integration with existing public healthcare system to provide informed choice to the needy public by making Ayush services available in a team based approach. It has been observed by visiting teams that footfall of the beneficiaries visiting to the AAM (Ayush) has been subsequently increased after upgradation of Ayush Dispensaries/Sub health centers into AAM (Ayush) because in addition to OPD services, these facilities are also providing various other services like Prakriti Parikshan, Yoga related activities at the level of facility as well as community, awareness about uses of common medicinal plants etc. Further, State/UT Governments have been suggested by the visiting team for appropriate training & capacity building of AAM (Ayush) team, strengthening of referral linkages with other public health facilities, effective involvement of field level workers specially ASHAs etc. for better outcome of the activities being conducted through AAM (Ayush). Under Co-located facilities, Ayush services are provided in villages of the country through 6349 Primary Health Centres (PHCs), 3002 Community Health Centres (CHCs) and 476 District Hospitals (DHs) as per the National Health Mission-MIS database as on 31.12.2024. Further, Ayush services are also provided in villages of the country through eight (8) dedicated Ayush Public Health Programmes namely (i) National Program for Prevention and Management of Musculoskeletal Disorders, (ii) Integration of Ayush with National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS), (iii) Supraja, (iv) Vayo Mitra, (v) Ayurvidya, (vi) Ayush Mobile Medical Unit, (vii) Karunya and (viii) National Program on Ayush for Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) of Lymphatic Filariasis.
