Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a) the amount of funds approved and released for establishing Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
(AAMs) under various schemes of the Government in the Country since their inception till
date,State-wise and year-wise;
(b) the totalnumberof AAMs functionalin rural andurbanareasof Andhra Pradesh;
(c) whether the Government has conducted an audit of the infrastructural facilities available
at such AAMs; and
(d) if so, the details of the States where such an audit was conducted along with the findings
thereofandif not,the reasons therefor?

(SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) to (d): Through 1.84 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) including 11,871 in
Andhra Pradesh, comprehensive primary healthcare is provided by strengthening Sub Health
Centres (SHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs). These AAMs provide preventive,
promotive, rehabilitative and curative care for an expanded range of services encompassing
reproductive and child healthcare services, Communicable diseases, Non-communicable
diseases andotherhealthissues.
The State/UT wise State Program Implementation Plan (SPIP) Approval and Expenditure for
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) under National Health Mission (NHM) from F.Y. 2022-
23to2024-25 isgiveninAnnexure.
The Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) aims to
support for infrastructure development for Sub-Health Centres, Urban AAMs, Support for
Block Public Health Units, Integrated District Public Health Laboratories and Critical Care
Hospital Blocks. Under PM-ABHIM, administrative approval for 696 Building-less SHC
(AAM) with an amount of Rs. 382.80 Cr., and 45 Urban AAM with an amount of Rs. 88.49
Cr.have beenaccordedto the Stateof Andhra Pradesh.
The Fifteenth Finance Commission (FC-XV) has recommended grants through Local
Governments for specific components of the health sectors. Under XV-FC Health Grants,
administrative approval for the construction of 1558 Building less SHC(AAM) with an
1amount of Rs. 532.04 Cr. and establishment of 191 Urban AAM with an amount of Rs.
418.21Cr.have beenaccordedto the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The evaluation of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) programme done by NITI Aayog
highlights several encouraging outcomes, including significant improvements in
infrastructure and increased community footfall because of wider access to Comprehensive
Primary Health Care services—especially for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD)
management, general Outpatient Department (OPD) care, free medicines and diagnostics.
The introduction of Community Health Officers (CHOs) has strengthened frontline service
deliveryanddigital toolssuch ase-Sanjeevanihave expandedaccesstospecialist care.
