Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Punjab
4705. Shri Malvinder Singh Kang:
Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of functional AYUSH hospitals, dispensaries and Ayushman Arogya
Mandirs–AYUSH (AAM-AYUSH) in Punjab as of 1st January, 2026, district-wise,
particularly in Rupnagar, Hoshiarpur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (SAS Nagar) and Shaheed
Bhagat Singh Nagar (SBS Nagar) districts;
(b) whether the Government has identified any critical infrastructure gaps or manpower
shortages including doctors, pharmacists and yoga instructors, in these facilities through the
National AYUSH Mission (NAM) monitoring framework, if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of Central funds released, State share deposited and utilization certificates
furnished by Punjab under NAM during the last three financial years, year-wise; and
(d) the details of the status of co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary Health Centre and
Community Health Centre in rural and semi-urban areas of the State to provide integrated
healthcare choice to patients?

(a) As reported by the State Government of Punjab, 01 Integrated Ayush Hospital (IAH), 06
Standalone Ayurveda Hospitals, 477 Ayush Dispensaries & 158 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
(Ayush) are functional in that State, as on 1st January, 2026. The district-wise details of the
Ayush facilities, including Rupnagar, Hoshiarpur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (SAS Nagar)
and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (SBS Nagar) districts are enclosed as Annexure-I.
(b) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to identify infrastructure
gaps, manpower shortage including doctors, pharmacists and yoga instructors at Ayush
hospitals, dispensaries and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Ayush) in the State of Punjab, lies
with the respective State Government. As reported by the State, after identifying the gap, 158
1Ayush Dispensaries have been upgraded as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Ayush) and made
functional.
(c) The year-wise details of the Central share released, State share deposited and Utilization
Certificates furnished by the State Government Punjab under NAM during the last three
years, are enclosed as Annexure-II. State Government of Punjab has not availed the financial
assistance during the financial year 2022-23.
(d) Government of India has adopted a strategy of Co-location of Ayush facilities at Primary
Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs)
including rural and semi urban areas of the State, thus enabling the choice to the patients for
different systems of medicines under a single window. The engagement of Ayush doctors/
paramedics and their training is being supported by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
under National Health Mission (NHM), while the support for Ayush infrastructure,
equipment/ furniture and medicines is being provided by the Ministry of Ayush under
National Ayush Mission (NAM), as shared responsibilities. As reported by State Government
of Punjab, 96 PHCs (86 Rural and 10 Semi Urban) and 89 CHC (9 Rural and 80 Semi Urban)
are functional in the State of Punjab to provide integrated healthcare choice to the patients.
