(a) whether the Government has given its nod for new four-lane stretch of
108 kms. from Badvel to Nellore on National Highway (NH)-67 to improve
connectivity to Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh and if so, the details
thereof;
(b) whether it would be done on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode or
Government would execute on its own, if so, the details thereof;
(c) the manner in which the above stretch would connect industrial
corridors of Andhra Pradesh – Kopparthy Node on Visakhapatnam-Chennai
Industrial Corridor, Orvakal Node on Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial
Corridor and Krishnapatnam Node on Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor;
and
(d) the details of the direct and indirect employment likely to be
generated through this project?

(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. Government has accorded approval for the development of
4-Lane Badvel-Nellore Highway from Badvel-Gopavaram Village on National
Highway NH-67 to Guruvindapudi on NH-16 in the State of Andhra Pradesh
for implementation of the project on Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) mode for a
total length of 108.134 km and with a total capital cost of Rs.3653.10 crore.
(c) The project will provide inter-connectivity to three important industrial
nodes under three Industrial Corridors in Andhra Pradesh i.e., Kopparthy
Node on the Vishakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) through
NH-40 & NH-67, Orvakal Node on Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor
(HBIC) through NH-40 & NH-67 and Krishnapatnam Node on Chennai-
Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) through NH-67 & NH-516W.
(d) The development of project is projected to generate 20 lakh person-days
of direct employment and 23 lakh-person days of indirect employment. The
project will also induce additional employment opportunities due to
increase in economic activity in the vicinity of the proposed road.
