Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state :

(a) whether the Government proposes the doubling of Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir Tilaiya rail section;

(b) if so, the time by which the said project is likely to be started;

(c) whether any time-limit has been fixed to complete the said project;

(d) the total cost of the said project; and

(e) the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW)

(a) to (e) : The work of Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya doubling (104 km) has been recently sanctioned at a cost of ₹2,192 crore. The process of land acquisition has been initiated. This project has been declared as a Special Railway Project. Competent Authority for Land Acquisition

(CALA) has also been nominated in November,2025.

include the following:  Land acquisition  Forest clearance  Shifting of infringing utilities  Statutory clearances from various authorities  Geological and topographical conditions of area  Number of working months in a year for particular project site etc.

All these factors affect the completion time. *****
