BENEFICIARIES OF E-SHRAM PLATFORM AND PM-SYM SCHEME

Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to
state:
(a) the detail of number of unorganised sector workers registered on the
e-Shram platforms in the country, State/UT-wise, including
Maharashtra, especially Washim-Yavatmal Lok Sabha Constituency;
(b) the details of total number of male and female beneficiaries
registered under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-
SYM) scheme in the country, especially, district-wise in
Maharashtra;
(c) the details of number of subscribers/beneficiaries who have exited
or in the Country withdrawn from the said scheme since its
inception, State/UT-wise; and
(d) the details of total funds disbursed and utilised under the said
scheme in Maharashtra, since its inception, year-wise?
ANSWER

(a) to (d): The Ministry of Labour and Employment launched eShram
portal (eshram.gov.in) on 26th August, 2021 for creation of a
comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW)
including platform workers, migrant workers etc. The e-Shram portal
registers the unorganised workers including gig and platform workers
and provides them a Universal Account Number (UAN) on a self-
declaration basis.
As on 22nd March 2026, over 31.57 crore unorganised workers have
already been registered on eShram portal.
State/UTs-wise details of unorganised workers registered on
eShram portal including Maharashtra is at annexure-I.

eShram portal in Maharasthtra including Washim-Yavatmal districts is
at annexure-II.
State-wise details of beneficiaries exited or withdrawn from
Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme since its
inception is at annexure-III.
The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM)
scheme was launched in February, 2019 in order to provide old age
protection to the workers of unorganised sector. This is a voluntary and
contributory pension scheme. Under the scheme, a monthly assured
pension of Rs. 3000/- is provided to the unorganised workers after
attaining the age of 60 years. The workers in the age group of 18 to 40
years whose monthly income is Rs. 15000/- or less and not a member of
EPFO/ESIC/NPS (Govt. funded) are eligible to join the scheme. The
monthly contribution amount ranges from Rs. 55/- to Rs.200/-, depending
upon the entry age of the beneficiary. Under the scheme, 50% monthly
contribution is payable by the beneficiary and equal matching
contribution is paid by the Central Government.
