(a) the details regarding the scholarship schemes currently available for students belonging to the
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the country, particularly in the
State of Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the details of the total number of beneficiaries under each of these schemes and the amount of
funds sanctioned and disbursed during the last three years, State-wise, year-wise and district-
wise in Andhra Pradesh; and
(c) the details of the steps taken by the Government to enhance awareness, outreach and
accessibility of these scholarship schemes among eligible students, especially from marginalised
and rural areas?

(a) to (b): Department of Social Justice and Empowerment(DoSJE) is implementing the
following scholarship schemes for Scheduled Castes (SCs) across the country including the State
of Andhra Pradesh. Details of total number of beneficiaries and amount sanctioned & disbursed
during the last three years for SCs is at Annexure I.
(i) Post Matric scholarship scheme for SC students
(ii) Pre Matric scholarship scheme for SCs & Others
(iii)Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers (SHREYAS- SC) for Scheduled
Castes (SCs) which comprises of 4 sub-Schemes:-
e Top Class Scholarship Scheme for SC students (TCS)
e Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC students (FCS)
e National Overseas Scholarship (NOS)
e National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste students (NFSC)
Further, Department is also implementing the following scholarship schemes for Other
Backward Classes (OBCs) across the country including the State of Andhra Pradesh. Details for
OBCs is at Annexure II.(i) Umbrella Scheme of PM Young Achievers’ scholarship Award scheme for vibrant India for
OBCs and Others (PM-YASASVIJ) with the following components:-
e Pre Matric scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT students
e Post Matric scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT students
e Top Class Education in Schools for OBC, EBC and DNT students
¢ Top Class Education in Colleges for OBC, EBC and DNT students
(ii) National Fellowship for OBCs under the umbrella scheme of scholarships for Higher
Education for Young Achievers Scheme (SHREYAS) for OBCs & Others.
(c): To enhance awareness, outreach and accessibility of aforementioned scholarship schemes,
Department takes the following steps:
