This document summarizes the Indian Ministry of Rural Development's response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2572, concerning the potential use of blockchain technology for land records to improve subsidy access for smallholder farmers in Warangal. The response, delivered on August 5, 2025, clarifies that the Department of Land Resources is currently implementing the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), a Central Sector Scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India, initiated on April 1, 2016. However, the Ministry confirms that blockchain-based digital land records are not being implemented under DILRMP, either nationally or specifically in Warangal. Consequently, no pilot projects are planned for Telangana, and no timeline exists for scaling blockchain technology to prevent fraud in subsidy distribution within rural areas. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Rural Development, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, provided this information.
