HEMANT VISHNU SAVARA: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) the details of the current status of the proposed 5th and 6th railway lines between Borivali and Virar and the 3rd and 4th railway lines between Virar and Dahanu; (b) the details of works completed and under execution in Palghar district including land acquisition, physical progress and expenditure incurred; (c) whether any delays have been encountered by the Government in the implementation of these projects and if so, the reasons therefor; and (d) the details of the expected timeline for completion and commissioning of these railway lines, particularly the sections falling within Palghar district? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (d) Virar–Dahanu Road 3rd& 4th Line (64 km) and Borivali–Virar 5th& 6th Line (26 km) projects are covered under MUTP-III and MUTP-IIIA, respectively. The status of these projects is as under: Name of the Cost Status Project (₹ in crore) Virar- 3,578  Entire 39 Ha. Land acquired. Dahanu  Entire 3 lac cum. earthwork completed. Road 3rd &  13 out of 16 major bridges completed. 4th line (64  53 out of 68 minor bridges completed. km)  All 4 RUBs completed.  60 out of 181 Station/Service buildings completed. § Page 1 of 8Name of the Cost Status Project (₹ in crore)  31 km out of 128 km track laying completed. Borivali- 2,184  16 Ha. out of 17 Ha. Land acquired. Virar 5th &  Forest clearance obtained from MoEFCC. 6th line  Permission for Mangroves felling (26 km) obtained from Hon’ble High Court.  3.3 lac cum. earthwork out of 6.7 lac cum. completed.  5 out of 23 FOB Extn. completed.  2 out of 12 minor Bridges completed.  Work in progress in 3 major bridges.  Work in progress in Station buildings and other items. The entire Virar–Dahanu Road 3rd& 4th Line (64 km) and part of Borivali– Virar 5th & 6th Line (26 km) fall in Palghar district. The total expenditure of ₹ 3,528 crore has been incurred for these two projects. In addition to above two projects, other projects have also been sanctioned under MUTP-I costing ₹ 4,502 Cr., MUTP-II costing ₹ 8,087 Cr., MUTP-III costing ₹ 10,947 Cr. & MUTP-IIIA costing ₹ 33,690 Cr. (32 km)  Land acquisition of 17 Ha out of 28 Ha completed.  Work in progress in 7 major bridges. 6 Kalyan-Kasara 3rd 1,433  Land acquisition of 48 Ha. out Line (68 km) of 54 Ha. completed.  4 out of 9 major bridges completed.  All 5 Station buildings completed.  23 km out of 68 km track laying completed. 7 Kalyan-Badlapur 3rd 1,510  1 out of 2 major bridges & 4th line (14 km) completed.  2 out of 4 ROBs completed.  30 out of 40 minor bridges completed. 8 3rd and 4th line 1,324  Design & drawings have been Badlapur-Karjat taken up. (32.46 km) 9 Panvel-Karjat 2,782  All 3 tunnels (3 km) completed. Suburban Corridor  5 ROBs, 16 RUBs completed. (29.6 km)  9 major bridges, 35 minor bridges completed.  67 km out of 70 km track laying completed. Corridor link (3.3  Phase-II (Airoli-Kalwa elevated km) track, 3.3 km): Land acquisition and R&R has been taken up. 11 Nilje-Kopar double 338  Land acquisition has been taken chord line(5 km) up.  6 out of 15 minor bridges completed.  0.85 lac cum. earthwork out of 1 lac cum. Completed 12 CSMT-Kurla 5th & 6th 891 Phase-I (Kurla-Parel, 10.1 km): line  1 out of 12 minor bridges (17.5 km) completed.  2 out of 4 station buildings completed.  Rebuilding of Sion ROB is in progress. Phase-II (Parel-CSMT, 7.4 km):  Land acquisition has been taken up. An amount of ₹ 2,213 Cr. has been allocated to Mumbai Urban Transport Projects in the current Financial Year 2026-27. Western Dedicated Freight Corridor from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal (JNPT) to Dadri (1506 km), passing through Palghar District, has been completed. Besides, Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (508 km) is in progress having two stations i.e. Virar and Boisar in Palghar District.
