Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री) be pleased
to state:
(a) whether the Government has taken any decision to boycott trade and tourism with
Turkey and Azerbaijan;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether India is importing any items from such countries;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the expected quantity of trade with such countries?

(a) to (e) The Government of India has not taken any decision to suspend or restrict trade
or tourism activities with the Turkey and Azerbaijan.
However, the import from Turkey has declined from USD 3,780 million in 2023-24 to USD
2,995 million in 2024-25 The import value from Azerbaijan has also remained marginal
since the Financial Year 2022-23. In the Financial Year 2023-24, imports from Azerbaijan
were recorded at less than USD 1 million. This low level of trade activity has continued in
subsequent periods, indicating a consistent trend.
The major items imported from Turkey during 2024-25 include Petroleum Crude, Gold,
Inorganic Chemicals, Granite, Natural Stones and Aircraft & Spacecraft parts.
The major items of import from Azerbaijan during 2024-25 include Finished Leather,
Medical and Scientific Instruments, Raw Hides and Skins, Fruits/Vegetables Seeds and
Hand Tools, Cutting Tools of Metals.
