SHRISUBHASISHKHUNTIA Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:- (a)whether the sanctionedand functionalbedstrength at AIIMS Bhubaneswar hasbeen assessed vis-a-vis the average dailyOPDand IPDpatientload,and,if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the existing capacity isconsidered adequatetomeetcurrent patient inflow; (c)whether the numberof sanctioned andvacantfacultyandspecialist posts hasbeen reviewedand,if so, the details thereof; (d) whether super-speciality departmentsare fullyoperationalandthe average waiting periodfor majorsurgeries; and (e)whether anyexpansion planisunderconsideration and,if so, the detailsthereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) & (b): Established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has 1028 functional beds. The number of OPD and IPD patients who have availed treatment in AIIMS Bhubaneswar in the year 2024-25 isasunder: Total OPD Total IPD 12,72,311 41,876 (c): The detailsof sanctioned posts andfilledposts at AIIMS Bhubaneshwar isasunder: Faculty Non-Faculty Sanctioned In-position Sanctioned In-position 337 238 3963 2937The creation and filling of posts at AIIMS is a continuous process. In 2025, 81 additional posts (Faculty/Non-faculty)have beencreatedfor AIIMS Bhubaneswar. (d) &(e): At AIIMS Bhubaneswar,35Departments(includingSpecialty andSuper-Specialty) are functional. Waiting period for surgeries for patients in the Institute is contingent upon the patient’s medical condition, urgency of treatment required and availability of bed.
