thereof;
(b) whether the existing capacity isconsidered adequatetomeetcurrent patient inflow;
(c)whether the numberof sanctioned andvacantfacultyandspecialist posts hasbeen
reviewedand,if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether super-speciality departmentsare fullyoperationalandthe average waiting
periodfor majorsurgeries; and
(e)whether anyexpansion planisunderconsideration and,if so, the detailsthereof?

(a) & (b): Established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), All India
Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has 1028 functional beds. The number
of OPD and IPD patients who have availed treatment in AIIMS Bhubaneswar in the year
2024-25 isasunder:

are functional. Waiting period for surgeries for patients in the Institute is contingent upon the
patient’s medical condition, urgency of treatment required and availability of bed. The
expansion of variousfacilities inthe Institute istakenupina phased manner.
