SANJAY JAISWAL: Will the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways be pleased to state: प(cid:517)न,पोत प(cid:303)रवहन और जलमाग(cid:330) मं(cid:361)ी (a) whether the Government has prepared a phase-wise roadmap to increase the current port handling capacity to 180 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) by 2047; (b) if so, the details of the milestones achieved till 2025; (c) the details of the capacity enhancement projects during the last five years, port-wise; and (d) the details of the plans that are being formulated by the Government to expand port handling capacity? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a), (b) and (d) Yes. The Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 have been prepared by the Ministry as roadmap for 2030 and 2047 respectively to enhance the Indian ports handling capacity from current level to approximately 10,000 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2047. As on 31.03.2025, the Indian Port cargo handling capacity has reached 2771 MTPA.
