SHRI RAHUL GANDHI: Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Ministry of Home Affairs has been tasked to coordinate the career progression of Agniveers after their term from the armed forces ends; (b) if so, the details thereof along with the rationale behind assigning this responsibility to the Ministry of Home Affairs instead of the Ministry of Defence, given that Agniveers serve in the armed forces; (c) whether the Government has assessed the potential overlap or coordination challenges between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence in managing the transition and career progression of ex- Agniveers; and (d) the specific activities and programmes that the Ministry of Home Affairs will coordinate for ex-Agniveers? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI NITYANAND RAI) (a) to (c): The distribution of subjects among Ministries/Departments has been specified in the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules,1961.
