Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state:
(a) the details of total number of individuals trained under the Capacity
Building for Service Providers (CBSPs) scheme since its inception;
(b) the employment rate or entrepreneurial outcomes of individuals
trained under the said scheme, particularly in the rural tourism
sector;
(c) the details of youth beneficiaries from North-Eastern Region,
particularly women from backward areas; and
(d) whether the tribal areas are getting proper access to these training
programmes, if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT)
(a) to (d): Under the Scheme of “Capacity Building for Service Providers”
(CBSP), Ministry of Tourism conducts training programmes for the tourism
Stakeholders across the country including urban, rural and tribal areas.
The outcome of these trainings includes placements by institutes, self
employment and trainees opting for higher studies such as diploma and
degree courses in the Tourism and Hospitality sector.
As per information available, a total of 6.43 lakh persons are trained
since inception i.e. 2009-10 till 31st October, 2025 and more than 84000 are
placed.
All the Government and empanelled institutes advertise the training
programs through various channels before conducting the training. This is
an effective instrument for reaching a diverse group of candidates,
including women and youth from tribal areas.
The details of youth trained in various States including of North-
Eastern Region is at Annexure.
