(a) to (d) The Central Research Laboratory (CRL) is established at All India Institute
of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar to provide a centralized platform
equipped with advance research infrastructure and high-end instrumentation for
conducting sophisticated biomedical and clinical investigations by students and
faculty of all clinical departments of the Institute. This infrastructure is utilized by the
Institute for conducting research fundedby various agencies including Indian Council
of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Science & Technology (DST),
Department of Biotechnology (DBT), etc.
To develop and strengthen health research infrastructure in the country and to
encourage quality medical research, the Department of Health Research (DHR) has
established Multi-Disciplinary Research Units (MRUs) and Viral Research and
Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDLs) in various Government Medical
Colleges/Research Institutions across the country.
