Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that the land use of the area was changed for the
Central Vista project and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the total number of trees that were cut to clear the land; and
(c) the total cost incurred on demolishing the existing buildings?

Land use of Plot No. 1 located on Church Road near DTC Central
Secretariat Bus terminal measuring 15 acres has been changed from
“Transportation (Bus Terminal/Parking) and Government (President Estate
& Parliament house) & Recreational (Neighborhood Play area)” to
“Residential”.
Land use of Plot No. 2 located on opposite to Parliament House measuring
9.5 acres has been changed from “Recreational (District Park)” to
“Government (Parliament House)”
Land use of Plot No.3 located on South of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road &
House National Archives measuring 7.7 acres has been changed from
“Public and semi-public facilities” to “Govt. office (5.88 acres) &
recreational (District Park) (1.88 acres)”
Land use of Plot No.4 located on South of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road & East
of Janpath measuring 24.7 acres has been changed from “Public and semi-
