CIVILIANS KILLED BY SECURITY PERSONNEL
2927. DR. KAKOLI GHOSH DASTIDAR:
Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of terrorist attacks reported during the last ten years;
(b) the details and number of civilians and security personnel killed and
injured in such incidents;
(c) the total number of terrorists killed or arrested in response to such
attacks; and
(d) the number of incidents where no terrorists were arrested or killed?

(a) to (d): Although as per the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution, ‘Police’
and ‘Public Order’ are State subjects, the National Crime Records Bureau
(NCRB) compiles the nationwide data on crime and publishes the same in its
annual publication ‘Crime in India’, which started since 2017. The latest
published data is of the year 2023. Relevant information on this subject based
on the data published by NCRB from 2017 to 2023 is at Annexure.
