ADOOR PRAKASH: Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has decided to cut down the number of Post Offices in many States including Kerala and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; (b) the details of the number of post offices closed and identified for closure so far, State-wise; (c) whether the Government has noted the concern among the public and postal employees over the closure of Post Offices; and (d) if so, the details of the measures proposed by the Government to address the same? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. PEMMASANI CHANDRA SEKHAR) (a) No Sir. (b) In view of (a) above, question does not arise. (c) & (d) In view of (a) above, questions do not arise.
