COASTAL ROAD PROJECT IN KONKAN REGION

Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

be pleased to state:
(a) the present status of the proposed coastal road project in the
Konkan region;
(b) the funds sanctioned for the said purpose; and
(c) the time by which the said project is likely to be completed?

THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS
(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)
(a) to (c) The Government in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of
National Highways (NHs). The proposed coastal road project in the
Konkan region is not a NH. The State Government of Maharashtra has
taken up the development of this coastal road project through its own
funds.
