## Summary of Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2034 Regarding Compensation for Land Acquisition on NH-29

**Status of Compensation Disbursement:**
As of July 31, 2025, the compensation disbursement status is as follows:
* **Gorakhpur:** Out of ₹1632 Cr. deposited in CALA, ₹1558 Cr. has been disbursed. ₹74 crore is pending due to ownership/shareholding-related cases in various courts.
* **Mau:** Out of ₹2102.89 Cr. deposited in CALA, ₹2039.54 Cr. has been disbursed. ₹63.35 crore is pending due to ownership/shareholding/circle rate-related cases in various courts. Disbursement of the remaining ₹38.38 Cr. is in progress.
* **Ghazipur:** Out of ₹2853.84 Cr. deposited in CALA, ₹2820.62 Cr. has been disbursed. ₹14.72 crore is pending due to ownership/shareholding/circle rate-related cases in various courts. ₹18.12 Cr. has been withdrawn from the CALA PD account limit due to non-applicability of Disbursement, and the remaining 0.28 Cr. is being disbursed by CALA Ghazipur.
* **Varanasi:** Out of ₹558.6 Cr. deposited in CALA, ₹544.8 Cr. has been disbursed. ₹13.8 Cr. is pending due to disputes in ownership/shareholding related cases under various courts.
**Cases Pending with District Magistrates:**
* **Gorakhpur:** 121 cases for enhancement of compensation amount are pending with the Arbitrator District Magistrate Court.
* **Ghazipur:** 44 cases for enhancement of compensation amount are pending with the Arbitrator District Magistrate Court.
* **Varanasi:** No cases regarding the payment of compensation to farmers are reported to be pending at District Magistrate, Varanasi.
**Timeline for Completion of Compensation:**
The process of compensation payment to the concerned farmers will be completed after the settlement of the pending cases. However, the disbursement of ₹38.66 Cr. is currently in progress in the Districts of Mau and Ghazipur by the Competent Authority Land Acquisition.

Gorakhpur has been paid in full to the farmers, if so, the details
thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
b) whether any case is going on with the District Magistrates in
Varanasi, Gorakhpur or Ghazipur districts regarding the payment of
compensation to farmers and if so, the details thereof; and
c) the time by which the compensation is likely to be paid to those
farmers?
