Dr. T Sumathy Alias Thamizhachi Thangapandian: Shri Rakesh Rathor: Shri Anoop Pradhan Valmiki: Shri Sunil Kumar: Shri Rambhual Nishad पे(cid:7069)ोिलयम एव ं(cid:7079)ाकृितक गसै मं(cid:7074)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) the target fixed to provide LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the country; (b) whether the Union Government has achieved its target in releasing connections/new connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the country and if so, the State-wise details thereof along with the current status of PMUY; (c) the total number of new beneficiaries as well as connections issued so far thereunder across the country including Tamil Nadu along with the number of such connections issued to the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) till June 2025; (d) the total number of Domestic Gas Distribution networks available under the Yojana across the country, State-wise with particular reference to Tamil Nadu along with the number of distribution networks available in urban and rural areas; (e) whether the Government proposes to provide or has provided LPG connections to Bagaha, Ramnagar and Narkatiaganj in Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency in Bihar under the scheme and if so, the details thereof; (f) whether the number of gas distribution centres under this Yojana are adequate in Hathras district and it is ensured that cylinders are being delivered on time in rural areas; (g) whether the Government is identifying such families in Hathras district which have been deprived of the benefit of this Yojana despite being eligible for the same; (h) the targets set and the number of connections provided in Uttar Pradesh including Sultanpur under PMUY during the last three years and the current year till date; and (i) whether the Government is aware that thousands of families are kept deprived of connections despite being eligible under the said scheme and if so, the details thereof and the steps being taken by the Government in this regard?ANSWER पे(cid:7069)ोिलयम एव ं(cid:7079)ाकृितक गसै मं(cid:7074)ालय म (cid:7286)रा(cid:6996)यम(cid:7074)ं ी ((cid:7088)ी सरु ेश गोपी) MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS (SHRI SURESH GOPI) (a) to (c): Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched in May, 2016 with an objective to provide deposit free LPG connection to adult women from poor households across the country. The target to release 8 crore connections under PMUY was achieved in September 2019. To cover the remaining poor households, Ujjwala 2.0 was launched in August 2021 with a target to release 1 crore additional PMUY connections, which was achieved in January 2022. Subsequently, the Government decided to release 60 lakh more LPG connections under Ujjwala 2.0 and the target of 1.60 crore Ujjwala 2.0 connections was also achieved during December 2022. Further, Government approved release of additional 75 lakh connections under PMUY scheme which was also achieved by July 2024. As on 01.07.2025, Out of total 10.33 crore LPG connections under PMUY, more than 3.13 crore connections have already been given to SC/ST consumers. State/UT-wise details of LPG connections under PMUY along with connections released under SC/ST category including in the State of Tamil Nadu are given at Annexure – A. (d): OMCs have also improved the distribution infrastructure for domestic LPG immensely. As of July 01, 2025, there are a total of 25,573 LPG distributorships across the country, out of which 17,646 are serving rural areas. Details of State/UT-wise and category-wise number of LPG distributors including Tamil Nadu is given as Annexure – B. (e): The Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency in Bihar covers regions within the West Champaran district. As on 01.07.2025, OMCs have released 5.6 lakh LPG Connections under PMUY scheme in the West Champaran District.(f) & (g): As on 01.07.2025, OMCs have 1.82 lakh PMUY Connections in the district Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, out of a total of 4.03 lakh domestic LPG connections in the district. LPG cylinders are delivered at door steps of most consumers within 48 hours of booking of refills.
