Parliament Question: Connectivity between Sri Ganganagar–Hanumangarh–Sadulpur–Rewari–Delhi

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1784 TO BE ANSWERED ON 29.07.2026 CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN SRI GANGANAGAR–HANUMANGARH– SADULPUR–REWARI–DELHI †1784. SHRI KULDEEP INDORA: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the long-pending demand for an Intercity rail service on the Sri Ganganagar-Hanumangarh-Sadulpur- Rewari-Delhi section for the convenience of daily commuters, employed person, students, traders and other passengers and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Railways has conducted any survey or feasibility study on the proposals and requests received from public representatives in this regard and if so, the key findings thereof; (c) whether the Government proposes to start a daily Intercity rail service operating from Sri Ganganagar in the morning and from Delhi in the evening; and (d) if so, the proposed route, timeline and current status thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (d) At present, Sriganganagar is directly connected to Delhi by 06 pairs of trains including 01 pairs of trains viz. 14727/14728 Shri Ganganagar - Tilak Bridge Express operating via Sri Ganganagar-Hanumangarh- Sadulpur-Rewari-Delhi section. The list of trains services is as under:- SN. Train No. and Name 1 12439/12440 Nanded - Shri Ganganagar Express § Page 1 of 22 12455/12456 Delhi Sarai Rohilla - Bikaner Express 3 12481/12482 Delhi - Shri Ganganagar Express 4 12485/12486 Nanded - Shri Ganganagar Express 5 14029/14030 Shri Ganganagar - Delhi Express 6 14727/14728 Shri Ganganagar - Tilak Bridge Express Proposals/requests/suggestions/representations, both formal and informal inter alia for introduction of new trains are received from Members of Parliament, elected representatives, organizations/rail users etc. at various levels including Railway Board, Zonal Railways, Divisional Office etc. The receipt of such proposals/requests/suggestions is a continuous and dynamic process. These are examined and action as found feasible and justified is taken from time to time, which is an on-going process. Besides, introduction of train services, on any route/section, which is an on- going process, depends on various factors which include: ● Capacity of that section ● Availability of path ● Availability of required rolling stock ● Availability of matching infrastructure for rolling stock ● Maintenance requirement of railway tracks and other assets ● Occupancy and the traffic requirement of the section ***** Page 2 of 2
