SHRI BHAJAN LAL JATAV: Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state: (a) the details of schemes being implemented by the Government for the conservation and development of eco-tourism in National Chambal Gharial Sanctuary; (b) the details of steps taken to increase the participation of local communities in such Schemes; (c) the details of funds sanctioned and utilised for the said purpose during the last five years; and (d) whether the Government has proposed any additional projects for the promotion of eco-tourism in the Karauli-Dholpur región? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE (SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH) (a) The Government of India, through this Ministry, implements the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats, which comprises the components of Project Tiger & Elephant and Development of Wildlife Habitats for the conservation and management of Protected Areas, including the National Chambal Gharial Sanctuary. (b) Participation of local communities in ecotourism is facilitated through the statutory Management Plan prepared by the State Government in accordance with the Sustainable Tourism Guidelines issued by this Ministry in 2021. (c) The details of funds sanctioned under the said components of the Schemes are enclosed at Annexure 1 and 2. (d) Ecotourism in the Dholpur- Karauli Tiger Reserve is regulated in accordance with the National Tiger Conservation Authority (Normative Standards for Tourism Activities and Project Tiger) Guidelines, 2012.
