**Summary:**
This document summarizes the status of the Kandla-Gorakhpur LPG Pipeline (KGPL) project, a joint venture (JV) between Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), being implemented by IHB Ltd. Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) whether Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum
Corporation Limited (HPCL), which are among the largest refineries in India, have jointly
constructed the world’s longest pipeline of 2800 kilometers from Kandla in Gujarat to Gorakhpur
in Uttar Pradesh and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the total expenditure incurred on the construction of the said pipeline;
(c) whether the said pipeline has become fully operational and if so, the details thereof;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor and the timeframe by which it is likely to become fully operational;
and
(e) the extent to which the said pipeline network will reduce the transportation cost of fuel and
thereby reduce the burden of fuel cost on the general public?

(a) to (e) Kandla Gorakhpur LPG Pipeline (KGPL) project is being implemented by IHB Ltd,
a Joint Venture (JV) of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum
Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL). The project is
progressing and physical progress as of now is 91% and financial progress is 75%. KGPL
project consists of a 2805 km long LPG pipeline at a total cost of ₹10,088 Crore. Total
expenditure incurred so far on construction of KGPL is ₹ 7513.13 Crore. PNGRB has
authorized completion of the said pipeline by 31st December 2025. Commissioning of this
pipeline will lead to estimated reduction in running of bulk Tank Trucks by 185 Million
KMs, along with estimated reduction in HSD consumption by 59,000 KL annually.
