(b) if so, the details thereof, along with the action taken by the
Government thereon and the reasons for delay, if any including the
tentative timeline fixed for sanction and completion of the said projects?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS
[ DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA ]
(a) to (b) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility of development
of sports, including creation and upgradation of sports infrastructure
such as synthetic athletic track, rests primarily with the respective
State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government only
supplements their efforts by bridging critical gaps. Under the Khelo India
Scheme, a proposal for construction of a Multipurpose Hall at
Satavahana University in Karimnagar District, was received from the
State Government of Telangana. However, no fresh proposals under
Khelo India Scheme are being considered as the scheme for the period
2021-26 has ended.
