This document summarizes the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 821, answered on July 24, 2025, regarding the construction of over bridges in Maharashtra, with specific focus on the Parbhani Lok Sabha Constituency.
Currently, 169 National Highway (NH) projects are in progress in Maharashtra, with a total cost of Rs. 63,230 crores. These projects include the construction of 551 over bridges/underpasses, with 9 of these located within the Parbhani Lok Sabha Constituency.
Regarding the proposal for a flyover bridge from Chintamani petrol pump to the crematorium in Yavatmal city, the Ministry clarified that this road stretch falls under the jurisdiction of the State Government as it is a State Highway (MSH03). Therefore, there is no current proposal under consideration by the central government for this specific project.
To address traffic congestion and accidents, a bypass to Yavatmal city has already been constructed. Furthermore, the construction of a Parbhani bypass is underway at an estimated cost of Rs. 496.64 crores, with a targeted completion date of December 31, 2025. These projects were initiated after considering traffic requirements, available Right of Way (RoW), congestion in urban areas, and road safety.
