SHRI CAPTAIN VIRIATO FERNANDES: Will the MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is constructing an observatory tower as well as a revolving restaurant over the new Zuari Bridge, also known as Manohar Sethu, if so, the reasons for the need or importance of having such a tower and a restaurant; (b) the estimated cost separately for construction of the tower and the restaurant respectively; (c) the mode of getting people/customers to visit the actual site of the tower and the restaurant either by road, air or ferry boat considering that the Zuari River flows beneath the bridge; (d) the location of parking for the vehicles bringing people to the site; and (e) the date by which the construction is likely to be completed? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (e) The Government has not sanctioned the work for construction of Observatory tower as well as a revolving restaurant over the new Zuari Bridge. However, on the request of the State Government of Goa, the Central Government has conveyed in-principle NOC to the State Government of Goa for leasing out the Government land for the construction of observatory tower including cafeteria, non-revolvingrestaurant and observatory gallery at the new Zuari Bridge under Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode. As per details provided by the State Government of Goa, the scheduled date for completion of the proposed observatory towers and restaurant along with other facilities is 31.03.2031. *****
