* **LC No. 37 at Km 43/200-300 Hagaribommanahalli Mariyammana halli:** ROB work in lieu of LC 37 at Km 43/200-300 has been sanctioned with an estimated cost of ₹ 45.24 crores. The work of preparation of GAD has been taken up.
* **Widening of Bridge No. 39 at Km 19/800-900:** Bridge No. 39 located between Ramgad-Yeshwanthnagar stations in the Vyasa Colony Junction - Swamihalli section is a waterway bridge with adequate flow capacity.
* **LC No. 10 between Hospet - Vyasa Colony Junction stations:** Preparation of Technical Feasibility Report / Detailed Project Report (TFR / DPR) for the construction of ROB/RUB in lieu of LC No. 10 at Km 4/200-300 has been taken up.

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has examined the proposals for
construction and widening of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and
Road Under Bridges (RUBs) in the Ballari Lok Sabah
Constituency, including
(i) Bridge No. 265A at Ballari Yard (Mothi Circle) for conversion
to double line,
(ii) LC No. 8 between Bannihatti–Ranajithpura,
(iii) LC No. 90 between Papinayakanahalli–Bailavaddigeri,
(iv) LC No. 37 between Hagaribommanahalli–Mariyammanahalli,
(v) Bridge No. 39 between Yashwanthanagar–Ramaghada, and
(vi) LC Nos. 10 and 5 between Hospet–V.C. Stations;
(b) whether these works have been approved/sanctioned by the
South Western Railway and if so, the details thereof and if
not, the reasons therefor along with the steps taken for early
approval and execution; and
(c) the details of budget allocation, sanction status and expected
completion timeline for each proposal?

(a) to (c) : Sanctioning and execution of works of Road Over
Bridges/ Road Under Bridges (ROBs/RUBs) is a continuous andongoing process on Indian Railways. Such works are prioritized
and taken up on the basis of their impact on safety and mobility in
train operations and impact on road users.
Nos. of ROBs/ RUBs constructed on Indian Railways during
the period 2004-14 vis a vis 2014-25 (Oct’25) is as under:

As on 01.11.2025, 4689 Nos. ROBs/ RUBs are sanctioned at
the cost of ₹1,11,583 Cr on Indian Railways including 127 Nos.
Road Over Bridge (ROB)/Road Under Bridge (RUB) at a cost of ₹
3,920 crore in the State of Karnataka, which are at various stages
of planning and execution. Out of 127 Nos. works of ROBs/RUBs,
07 Nos. are situated on Railway tracks in Ballari Lok Sabha
Constituency.

Further, Railways have taken following measures to expedite the
progress of work:
i. Joint survey with concerned State Govt./Road Owning
Authority is done before finalizing the General Arrangement
Drawing (GAD) to ensure smooth execution.ii. Periodic meetings of Railway & State Government officials
are done to resolve various issues related to ROB/RUB
works.
iii. Standardization of superstructure drawings for various
combinations of span, skewness and width of road on
Railway portion has been done to avoid delays during the
design approval. This has been issued in the form of
compendium, which can be directly adopted for Road Over
Bridge across Railway lines for expeditious planning.
iv. ROB/RUB works are planned to be executed on a single
entity basis by Railway wherever possible. In case any Road
Owning authority/State Govt. wants then Railway may
permit them to execute the work on a single entity basis.
Completion of any ROB/RUB work depends on various factors
like, fixing of approach alignment, approval of General
Arrangement Drawing (GAD), land acquisition, removal of
encroachment, shifting of infringing utilities, statutory clearances
from various authorities, law and order situation in the area of
project / work sites, number of working months in a year for
particular project / work sites due to climatic conditions etc. All
these factors affect the completion time of the projects / works.
