(a) the number of Government container factories/manufacturing units...

Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state: प(cid:517)न, पोत प(cid:303)रवहन और जलमाग(cid:330) मं(cid:361)ी
(a) the number of Government container factories/manufacturing units in Gujarat at present;
(b) whether the Government proposes to construct a new container factory in Surendranagar Lok Sabha Constituency located between Pipavav Port and Mundra Port, as large chunk of Government land is lying vacant there, so as to ensure development and create employment opportunities and generate revenue because China and other countries are purchasing containers from the country; and
(c) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL)
(a) At present there is no Government container factory in Gujarat.
(b) & (c) No, there is no proposal under Sagarmala Programme of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for a new container factory in Gujarat. *****
