SUMITRA BALMIK: Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state: (a) the current status of first Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) manufactured entirely by the industry consortium of HAL and L&T; (b) the extent to which the domestic industry now contributes to the overall systems and components of ISRO’s launch missions; and (c) how the transfer of routine satellite launches to the private sector would enable ISRO to focus on more complex missions like Gaganyaan and Space Vision 2047? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES & PENSIONS AND IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH): **** (a) M/s. NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a CPSE under Department of Space, has undertaken the activity of realization of 05 nos. of PSLV-XL through industry consortium of HAL and L&T. As part of this, the industry consortium has realized majority of launch vehicle systems. The stacking of first stage of PSLV produced by Industry Consortium has commenced on 22nd December, 2025 at SDSC SHAR with targeted launch during Q1-2026. (b) The ISRO’s launch missions are realized fully indigenously with all the components and systems (about 90%) sourced and manufactured and value addition done by domestic industry except for few electronics components and special materials. (c) With the transfer of routine satellite launches to the private sector, ISRO will be able to better utilize its resources and infrastructure for working on cutting edge advanced space technologies that are critical for undertaking complex missions like Gaganyaan and Space vision 2047. ****
