Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate:

(a)the contributionof the healthcaresector inour GDPinthe last financialyear;

(b) the trendsincontributionof the healthcaresector inGDPsince 2020;

(c) the contribution of private healthcare sector in totalGDPand the trendsduring the period; and

(d) the total number of employees working in both private and public firms operating in the healthcaresector since 2020? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SMT. ANUPRIYAPATEL)

(a)to(c): As perthe latest available National HealthAccounts(NHA) Estimates2021-22, Total HealthExpenditure(THE)asa share of GDPis3.8%. The THE asa share of GDP has increased from 3.3% in 2019-20 to 3.8% in 2021-22. The trend in THE, Government Health Expenditure (GHE) and Expenditure of entities other than Government asa share of GDPfor the FYs2019-20 to2021-22 isgivenbelow:
