COOKING GAS CONNECTIONS IN ANDHRA PRADESH AND TELANGANA
3495 SHRI RYAGA KRISHNAIAH:
Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of cooking gas connections that were there in the States of Telangana and
Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the number of new cooking gas connections provided in these States under Pradhan
Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme during the last five years, the details thereof, year-
wise; and
(c) the total amount spent on subsidy for LPG connections in these States under PMUY, the
details thereof, year-wise?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS
(SHRI SURESH GOPI)
(a): As on 01.03.2026, there were about 33.37 crore LPG connections across the country
including 1.29 crore connections in the state of Telangana and 1.62crore connections in the
state of Andhra Pradesh.
(b): As on 01.03.2026, there were about 10.56 crore PMUY connections across the country
including 12.34 lakh connections in the state of Telangana and 11.31 lakh connections in the
state ofAndhra Pradesh.
Year-wise details of number of PMUY connections released in state of Telangana & Andhra
Pradesh in the last five years is at Annexure-A.
(c): No State/UT-wise allocation of funds is done under PMUY. The details of funds
allocation and utilization under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during the last three
years are as below:
