This document contains questions raised in the Lok Sabha regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for sugar mills in the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar. Specifically, the questions ask about the number of sugar mills, details of development work carried out by these sugar mills using CSR funds over the last three years and the current year, whether the CSR funds have been used for personal gain, and if so, the details thereof and the action taken.
The response from the Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Harsh Malhotra, states that CSR expenditure according to Parliamentary Constituency is not centrally maintained. The CSR framework is disclosure based, and CSR mandated companies are required to file details of CSR activities annually in the MCA21 registry. Data regarding CSR expenditure district-wise, company-wise, PSU / NON-PSU-wise, State-wise, development sector-wise, etc., is publicly available at www.csr.gov.in. Therefore, information regarding questions (c) & (d) are not applicable.
