Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2026, submitted by Smt. Bag Mitali, to be answered on December 11, 2025, concerns crude oil prices. The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas was asked to provide details on:
a) Crude oil prices in Rupees between 2004-2014 and 2014-2024, year-wise.
b) Petrol prices in Rupees in New Delhi between 2004-2014 and 2014-2024, year-wise.
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (Shri Suresh Gopi) provided the following information:
a) The yearly average of Indian Basket of Crude Oil from 2004-05 to 2024-25 in Rupees/Barrel is given in Annexure-I.
b) The yearly average of Petrol Prices at New Delhi from 2004-05 to 2024-25 is given in Annexure-II.
Annexure-I lists the average prices of the Indian Basket of Crude Oil (Rs./Barrel) from FY 2004-05 (1,762.58) to FY 2024-25 (6,643.80).
Annexure-II lists the average Retail Selling Prices (RSP) of Petrol at New Delhi (Rs./Litre) from FY 2004-05 (36.61) to FY 2024-25 (94.74).
The source for the data in both annexures is the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC).
