DEVELOPMENT OF ADICHANALLUR ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
3162. SMT. RAJATHI :
Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:
(a) the year-wise details of funds allocated and utilized for Adichanallur archaeological site
during the years 2020-21 to 2025-26;
(b) the budgetary allocations made for the development of the site under the newly
proposed DESH (Development of Excavation Sites and Heritage Complexes) scheme
during 2026;
(c) the timeline proposed for completion of the State-of-the-art in situ museum, the
proposed curated walkways and other infrastructures; and
(d) whether any specific measures have been taken to recover and repatriate the
approximately 5,000 artefacts excavated from there currently housed in foreign museums?

(a) The year wise details of funds allocated and utilized for Adichanallur archaeological site
during the years 2020-21 to 2025-26 are given as under:

(b) Detailed planning is being done for the development and allocation of budget for the project.
(c) Based on the detailed planning, timeline will be fixed.

pursued for Indian artefacts in foreign museums and collections.
