SHRI RUDRA NARAYAN PANY: Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: a) whether the Government is thinking for more development of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal in Odisha; b) if so, the details thereof; and c) whether the Government has any proposal for opening Post Graduate Master Degree course, Ph.d. (Doctorate) scope and various type of research works in the said institution and if so, the details thereof ? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS (DR. L. MURUGAN) (a) to (c) : Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi along with its five campuses at Dhenkanal (Odisha), Kottayam (Kerala), Aizawl (Mizoram), Jammu (UT of Jammu and Kashmir) and Amravati (Maharashtra) has been declared as a Deemed to be University on 31st January, 2024. The Government is committed to the holistic development of IIMC. Requisite funds are allocated to IIMC for the development / upgradation of its infrastructure.
