SHRI MAGUNTA SREENIVASULU REDDY: Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state: प(cid:517)न,पोत प(cid:303)रवहन और जलमाग(cid:330) मं(cid:361)ी (a) the details of ports that are proposed, under construction and presently operational in the country, port-wise and State-wise, especially in Andhra Pradesh; (b) the details of the measures undertaken by the Government to modernise ports, including mechanisation, digitalisation and logistics integration, with a view to reducing vessel turnaround time and improving efficiency; (c) the details of the schemes, missions and initiatives launched for development, expansion, and upgradation of ports across the country; and (d) the details of the funds allocated, sanctioned, released and utilised for port development and modernisation during the last five years, State-wise and project- wise, especially in Andhra Pradesh? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a) The list of 12 operational Major Ports in the country under the administrative control of the Central Government is available at Annexure-1. Further, two new ports i.e. Vadhavan Port in Maharashtra and Galathea Bay Port in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, have been notified as Major Port. The list of 68 operational Other than Major Ports (OTMPs), under the administrative control of the respective State Governments, is available at Annexure - 2. As per the information received from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the details of ports, which are under construction in Andhra Pradesh,is as under: (i) Mulapeta Port (formerly Bhavanapadu Port), Srikakulam District (ii) Machilipatnam Port, Krishna District (iii) Ramayapatnam Port, SPSR Nellore District (iv) Kakinada SEZ Port, Kakinada District(b) The Government has undertaken several measures for modernisation of ports, including mechanization of existing berths and terminals, digitalisation and logistics integration,construction of new berths and terminals, capital dredging for increasing drafts suitable for larger vessels, development of road, rail and waterways connectivity etc. In addition, several initiatives such as elimination of manual forms, facilitation of direct port delivery and entry, installation of container scanners, e- delivery of orders/ invoice/ payments, RFID based gate-automation system, implementation of Maritime Single Window -SagarSetu 2.0have been undertaken to reduce vessel turnaround time and improve efficiency. (c) The Government has launched several schemes, missions and initiatives for the development, expansion and upgradation of ports across the country.
