Parliament Question: Development of Road Infrastructure in Nashik

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 6415 ANSWERED ON 2ND APRIL, 2026 DEVELOPMENT OF ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE IN NASHIK 6415. SHRI RAJABHAU PARAG PRAKASH WAJE: Will the MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the acute traffic congestion, frequent accidents and infrastructure stress on the stretch between Dwarka Circle and Nashik Road in Nashik city and if so, the corrective action taken thereof; (b) whether any proposal has been approved or is under consideration for construction of a flyover on the said stretch and if so, the present status thereof; (c) the details of statutory clearances required for the project, including land, environmental and railway clearances and the status of such clearances as received and pending; (d) the timelines fixed for execution of the project and the budgetary allocations made so far; (e) whether the said stretch falls under National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is included under Bharatmala Pariyojana; (f) whether the Government proposes to complete and operationalise the flyover before Kumbh Mela-2027 and if so, the details thereof; and (g) whether the Government has planned or sanctioned any new National Highway projects, an Outer Ring Road in view of the increasing traffic demand in Nashik and if so, the project-wise details thereof along with the present status and timelines?ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (f) The Government has sanctioned the construction of a grade- separated interchange at the Dwarka Circle in Nashik city at an estimated cost of Rs. 213.86 crore, which is under implementation by the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MSIDCL). In addition, the State Government has submitted a proposal for the development of the Dwarka Circle junction – Upnagar Naka – Datta Mandir Chowk stretch of NH-60 at an estimated cost of Rs. 258.53 crore to be implemented through Nashik Municipal Corporation. The proposal will be considered for sanction based on requirement of connectivity & traffic density. The work for the construction of Dwarka Circle interchange is under implementation with the scheduled date for completion in February 2027, before the Kumbh Mela - 2027. The interchange is being developed within the available Right of Way (ROW), and all the statutory clearances for the project have been obtained. (g) The alignment for construction of outer ring road for Nashik city has been approved. A part of this ring road has been taken up by the State Government of Maharashtra through its own funds. *****
