SANDHYA RAY: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) the details of projects approved under the Government schemes for the development of prominent religious, historical and cultural sites in Madhya Pradesh, specifically in Bhind and Datia, including Shri Pitambara Peeth (Datia), Sonagiri Jain Tirtha, Ratangarh Mata Mandir, Ater Fort, Vankhandeshwar Mahadev Temple, Gauri Sarovar, Dandraua Dham (Hanuman Ji) and other tourist destinations, scheme- wise along with funds approved, allocated and status of projects completed and ongoing since the year 2014 to till date; and (b) the details of expenditure incurred on the said projects since 2014, year-wise and the works undertaken to increase tourist's footfall at each of the said sites? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (b): The development and promotion of tourist destinations and tourism products is primarily undertaken by the respective State Government/ Union Territory (UT) Administration. However, the Ministry of Tourism, under its various schemes such as Swadesh Darshan (SD), Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0), Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) and Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) supplements the efforts of the States/UTs by providing financial assistance for the development of tourism related infrastructure and experiences across the country including religious, historical and cultural sites in Madhya Pradesh. The details of projects including amount sanctioned, authorized, utilized and physical status under the aforementioned schemes in the State of Madhya Pradesh is placed at Annexure.The Ministry of Tourism through its Central Sector Schemes has sanctioned various interventions such as tourist information centre, queue management complex, waiting halls, cloak room, widening of approach roads, CCTVs for pilgrim safety, foot-over bridges, parking, basic amenities such as toilets, dustbins, drinking water facilities and other site development works across the country for improving and upgrading overall tourist experience.
