SHRI RAMBHUAL NISHAD: Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state:- प(cid:419)न, पोत प(cid:464)रवहन और जलमाग (cid:91) म(cid:287)ं ी (a) the details of new port development projects, inland waterways and shipping infrastructure set up in various States across the country during the last three years and the current year, State/district-wise; (b) whether the Government has implemented any scheme to promote the development of inland waterways, construction of new terminals and port-related projects, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and if so, the details thereof; (c) the details of funds sanctioned, allocated and utilized for these projects, State/district-wise particularly in Uttar Pradesh; and (d) whether the Government has recently accorded administrative approval and financial sanction for new projects related to waterways or shipping infrastructure in various districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Sultanpur and if so, the details along with the proposed timeline thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a) to (c) The Government has implemented several policy and promotional initiatives for the development of Inland Water Transport (IWT) sector, including notification of the National Waterways (Construction of Jetties/ Terminals) Regulation, 2025, Jalvahak scheme and extension of Tonnage Tax benefits, besides development of Multi Modal Terminals (MMT)/ Inter Modal Terminal (IMT), jetties and fairway maintenance. The details of IWT/ new port infrastructure projects, including the projects of Uttar Pradesh implemented on National Waterway (NW)-1 (Haldia to Prayagraj) are attached as Annexure-I. The details of major project undertaken and being undertaken to strengthen trade and connectivity through inland waterways in theNorth-Eastern Region on NW-2, NW-16 in Assam are attached as Annexure -II. The details of projects on other waterways are attached at Annexure -III. (d) IWT projects for which approval have been given recently for implementation in Uttar Pradesh are given below: S.
