(a) the current status of development works on National Highway
(NH)-183 (Kollam-Theni) and NH-183A in Kerala;
(b) the details of sanctioned projects with regard to widening,
upgradation or maintenance works including their estimated cost,
executing agencies and physical and financial progress as on June
2025;
(c) whether any portions of the above NHs are facing delays due to
land acquisition, forest clearance or other administrative reasons
and if so, the details thereof;
(d) the timeline set for completion of ongoing and pending works
under execution by the Ministry/National Highways Authority of
India or the State Public Works Department; and
(e) the steps being taken by the Government to expedite
development of these highways which are vital for connectivity to
the Western Ghats and the Sabarimala pilgrimage corridor?

THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS
(SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)(a) to (d) National Highway (NH)-183 (Kollam–Theni) and NH-183A in
the State of Kerala are currently at the Detailed Project Report (DPR)
stage for upgradation to two-lane with paved shoulders / four-lane
standards. As on 30thJune 2025, the details of sanctioned
works, including maintenance works, on NH-183 and NH-183A in the
State of Kerala are annexed.
(e) Government has included 9 projects pertaining to these NHs,
covering a total length of 267 km at an estimated cost of ₹5,057 crore
