Parliament Question: Digital Attendance System in Tea Board Canteens

APARAJITA SARANGI: SHRI BALABHADRA MAJHI: Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री) be pleased to state: (a) whether the Tea Board is operating tea buffets and service counters canteens in various Government institutions/establishments in the country, if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the employees and workers engaged are covered under any digital attendance system, including biometric or other electronic modes, to ensure transparency and proper monitoring of attendance; (c) if so, the details of the digital attendance system being followed and the number of Tea Board run tea buffets and service counter canteens where such systems have been implemented; (d) whether the same digital attendance procedure, rules and monitoring mechanism are being followed uniformly in all Tea Board functioning under different Government institutions, if so, the details thereof; (e) whether there are variations in the attendance practices followed by different organisations, if so, the reasons for such differences; and (f) the steps taken by the Government to implement uniform digital attendance system in all Tea Board run canteens and ensure its effective compliance across various Government institutions? ANSWER वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय में राज्यमंत्री (श्री णिणिन प्रसाद) THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (f) Tea Board is operating tea buffets & service counters canteens in various Government institutions/establishments such as the premises of Parliament House, Cabinet Secretariat, Vanijya Bhawan, Ministry of External Affairs, Government Pool Office Accommodation & Niti Aayog, Tea Nook at Tirumala and Tea Board Office at Chennai. All above offices have Aadhaar enabled Biometric Attendance System for monitoring of attendance. Tea Board implements the attendance system uniformly in all the above offices. The Central Government also issues instructions/orders from time to time in this regards. *****
