Parliament Question: Digital modernization of PACS and cooperative societies

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COOPERATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1287 TO BE ANSWERED ON 11th FEBRUARY, 2026 Digital modernization of PACS and cooperative societies 1287 # Shri Pradip Kumar Varma: Will the Minister of Cooperation be pleased to state: (a) the number of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) computerized during the last three years; (b) the total amount of Central assistance released for the digitalization of cooperative societies; (c) the number of societies that have adopted online accounting and member services; and (d) the proposed digital expansion targets for the upcoming financial year? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF COOPERATION (SHRI AMIT SHAH) (a) to (c) Total 79,630 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) have been taken up for Computerization of PACS Project out of which 61,478 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) have been computerized and onboarded on Enterprise Resource Planning( ERP) software enabling them to adopt online accounting and member services. Total amount of Central assistance released under the Computerization of PACS Project by the Ministry is Rs. 1073.98 Crore out of which Rs. 908.06 Crore have been released to participating States/UTs and Rs. 165.92 Crore to NABARD as implementing agency under the project. (d) The proposed digital expansion targets for the upcoming financial year is 11,700 PACS apart from the already sanctioned 67,930 PACS. The total sanctioned PACS under the project has now become 79,630 PACS all over India. ******
